Women's Network Changing The Odds Program

Changing The Odds was designed to help women who are looking for ways to improve their job prospects. This includes women who have never held a job, may have left the job market for a period of time or have had recent changes in their career goals. Many of our participants have come to us from centers like McCambridge Center, Women’s Shelter, Boone County Partnership, CMCA and other community outreach programs. This committee puts on two programs a year, which are free to participants. The programs include topics such as how to put together a resume, fill out job applications, prepare for and attend job interviews, dressing for success, where and how to search for employment positions, how to overcome personal obstacles and conflict resolutions, laws applying to the workforce, etc. The guest speakers (WN members) include individuals with human resource backgrounds, lawyers, motivational speakers, office managers and business owners. Two (2) events per year.
